WVONLINE:
One of the more frustrating times a prospective customer on the internet has is trying to locate a "local" source for a product or service. Survey results taken about the buying habits of internet consumers show that most look to the internet for research and pricing comparisons on products and services that they wish to immediately purchase.
We at Citynet feel your pain when it comes to actually making the purchase once you’ve completed the proper research. Like you, we’d really prefer to purchase locally and give the local merchant an opportunity to make the sale – but how?
In the near future, Citynet will begin to convert our www.wvonline.com website into a full blown merchandising and product website specifically for businesses in our wonderful Mountain State! Our idea is to offer the opportunity for businesses and their customers to locate each other on a website that will be full of great information about our wonderful state, said Drew Pomeroy – Sr. Vice President, Citynet Retail Division.
Be watching for more information on this new and exciting website.
VOIP/DIGITAL PHONE:
Digital Phone Service customers - here are some important hints to keep your phone service and call quality at 100% optimum. Citynet Digital Phone customers utilize their high speed internet connection which provides excellent connectivity. But, did you know that it is always a good idea to keep the firmware on any equipment used with your Internet Service Provider (ISP) as up to date as possible. It is really simple to do! Check the model information on the equipment connected to your DSL or cable modem, then visit that manufacturer’s website and look for their link to update the firmware (the software that operates/controls the operation of the device). Download the new version of the firmware and then follow the instructions to upload this new version into the device.
Also remember that everyone's high speed connection is different in the internet world and Citynet can make some adjustments to audio and other settings to provide the best phone service quality possible over that connection. Finally, remember to NEVER hesitate to call our 24x7x365 call center - as we are always pleased to assist our customers. More information is available on our Digital Phone Service by visiting our website www.Citynet.net or by calling 800.903.8906
CITYNET OHIO AND MARTINSBURG, WV:
Citynet provides various services in 13 states and the District of Columbia. As we grow, Citynet is expanding local services in many West Virginia and Eastern Ohio markets that have seen little, if any, competition. "In the near future, Citynet will be offering full service collocation network services in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Martinsburg will be up and running in about 90 days and will become one of the primary locales in West Virginia where Citynet services will be available to customers," said Tim Thompson, VP-Sales, Citynet Retail Division.
Citynet is now available in many Ohio communities that are finally enjoying a competitive marketplace. The Ohio markets that we proudly serve are: Marietta, St. Clairsville, Steubenville, Ironton, Gallipolis, Lancaster, and Zanesville. "Moving into Ohio provides our customers the opportunity to really save on services and state-of-the-art network elements that have, up to now, been very expensive. Citynet offers a viable alternative to other providers and operates from our Westerville, Ohio (Columbus area) office," said Eric Cross, Regional Sales Manager, Citynet Retail Division.

CISCO CASE STUDY
Cisco, the leading provider of cutting edge technology in the VoIP/IP telephony market, has just released a new business case study that features the recently completed installation of an entirely new business communications network at WESBANCO. Citynet Sr. VP Drew Pomeroy worked with the IT executives at WESBANCO to design a fully integrated communications network utilizing 100% Cisco equipment. The new network supplies all the communications for the bank’s 1200 employees and their 85 branches.
With Cisco on board, Citynet then installed the communications network and worked closely with the WESBANCO folks to make certain that everything met their requirements prior to turning the system over to the bank for day-to-day operations. The WESBANCO IP communications system rides Citynet’s Carrier fiber network. Together, the new system and Citynet’s network is providing WESBANCO with savings of over $1 million a year.

OUR PEOPLE:
In the past several months our newsletters have been pretty full of information that customers have asked to see. One article that always seems to hit the cutting room floor first – when space gets tight – is the introduction of a couple of Citynet employees to our customers. As a company that is customer driven, and listening to many of our newsletter readers inquiring about this, we’re bringing back our employee bios:
This month we are showcasing two of our senior management team members. These two have been selected because of a recent change in responsibility for both. Both help to oversee our Citynet Retail Division operation and technology support.
Frank Boscarillo – Chief Operating Officer.
Frank recently was promoted to COO, Citynet Retail. The announcement was made by Luther Toney who is moving to the newly created position of Chief Technology Officer. Frank has 20 years of telecommunications experience.
Prior to joining Citynet, Frank was SVP – Operations, for Fibernet, where he was responsible for Network Operations and Engineering, Customer Service, Provisioning, Billing, and Information Technologies. Prior to that, he served as SVP – Network Operations and Service Delivery, at KMC Telecom. Frank also spent two years at LCI International which was acquired by Qwest, where he was Vice President of Network Operations and Provisioning.
His early career includes 11 years at Ameritech/Ohio Bell in various Network and Support Services management roles. At Citynet, he is responsible for the smooth running and management of our largest division, Citynet Retail.
Luther Toney - Chief Technology Officer.
Luther moved into this new position "because there isn’t anyone that is more knowledgeable on convergent technologies than Luther. He is truly the most qualified and technologically advanced person I’ve ever seen," said Jim Martin, Citynet President/CEO.
Luther joined Citynet in 1999 and has help to lead Citynet to its current position as one of the fastest growing, full service telecommunications companies. An expert in VoIP and web design, he is leading Citynet in our VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol or Internet Telephone) product offering, and many other new telephony products.
Toney has earned countless professional certifications including some of Cisco Systems highest certifications. He has earned many certifications from Microsoft, as well. At Citynet, Luther’s responsibilities include the day-to-day oversight of the group that keeps Citynet on the cutting edge of technology innovation.
