Citynet – Stronger than ever!
By now, most Citynet customers have heard that Citynet has sold one of our two operating divisions.
Citynet’s Retail Division, which is the original operating division of Citynet, will be strengthened by the sale of the former Wholesale Division which was located in Tulsa, OK. WHY? Citynet is getting back to our core business of being a full service provider of leading edge communications products and services. This move will ensure that Citynet has the financial ability to grow and procure additional operations that will further enhance our core business.
As we move forward, Citynet will be virtually debt free. This will allow us to develop new products, open new business markets and strengthen our relationships with our customers. We look forward to continuing to build on our requirement for top notch customer service, 24x7x365.
The Citynet that most of you know is here to stay, stronger, and ready to help you as we move into 2008. To see if your relationship with Citynet will change (and the vast majority will not see any change) visit our website. If your services from Citynet fall under the tabs titled: Residential, Business, or Reseller you will continue to be served by the fastest growing full service telecommunications provider – Citynet. You will continue to enjoy our One Call, One Bill, One Company customer service.
By the way - Happy New Year from everyone at Citynet! We hope that 2008 will be a very prosperous year for your business and a wonderful year for your family.
Citynet OH, IN, KY enters into 2008 on new Switching Platform.
As 2007 wound down, the behind the scenes actions here at Citynet were actually ramping up. Citynet was preparing to convert its Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky customers to a new switching platform over the end of year 2007 weekend. The preparations paid off well. Even though there were a few problems, the conversion was an overall success!
Charles Morris, Director - Switching & Operations, had this say about the change of switches; "…the level of reliability of this platform far exceeds that of its predecessor. Furthermore, Citynet’s commitment through this large capital investment will let our customers know our concern is for their service now and in the future. With this new switching platform (a Genband C3/8000/G9) we will be able offer our customers the reliable calling and wide feature ranges known historically to landline phones. Lastly, this switch is a proven platform, from which we are confident we can provide the same quality service to Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky as its sister switch is doing in the coverage of our West Virginia and Pennsylvania markets.
We thank you for allowing us to be your phone company in 2007, and look forward to a reliable and promising new year."

Our People:
This month, we are highlighting Todd Dlugos who is in charge of our finance department.
Effective immediately, Todd has become our Chief Financial Officer. Jim Martin, President/CEO of Citynet, announced the appointment of Mr. Dlugos as Chief Financial Officer earlier in the week. Mr. Dlugos' previous position was Vice President of Finance/Controller.
In making his announcement, Mr. Martin said "Todd has been instrumental in his approach to managing our finance department and has been invaluable as we have moved to better position our Company into a full service provider of telecommunications products and services. His continued guidance will be greatly needed as we look for strategic acquisitions to strengthen our core business."
A Morgantown, WV native, Todd graduated from WVU with a degree in accounting in 1992. After graduation he moved to Pittsburgh and worked for one of the "Big Six" (at that time), accounting firms. During this time, Todd passed the CPA exam. Two years later, he moved back to Morgantown and joined Vecchio and Co (Citynet’s audit/tax/accounting firm). He then worked for 7 years for HealthWorks Rehab & Fitness - a physical therapy and fitness company with several locations in north central WV – where he was responsible finance/accounting, MIS, and HR.
Todd has just completed his Executive MBA degree through WVU. Aside from working, he is an avid runner and cyclist. He and his wife and their three children live in Morgantown, WV.
